Ella Cust



Identified on the album page as ‘Ella Cust,’ this is probably Ella Margaret Purey-Cust, the daughter of Arthur Perceval Purey-Cust, Vicar of St Mary’s in Reading, Berkshire. Her mother was Lady Emma née Bligh, daughter of Edward Bligh, the 5th Earl of Darnley.

Born in 1859 at Cheddington in Buckinghamshire, she appears on the 1871 census living with her parents and older brother William at the Vicarage in Reading.

On 21 July 1891 she married Wilford Neville Lloyd, son of Colonel Robert Clifford Lloyd. The marriage produced two children.

Ella Margaret Lloyd died, aged 78, on 22 December 1937 at 31 Queen’s Gate in Kensington. Her usual address at the time of her death was 4 Eaton Terrace, London. She left an estate valued at £24,935.
