Marianne Davenport

Born on 23 May 1838 at Burslem in Staffordshire, Marianne Henrietta Davenport was one of the daughters of the pottery manufacturer William Davenport.

When the census was taken in 1861, the family were living at Maer Hall near Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire, formerly the home of Josiah Wedgwood, son of the founder of the Wedgwood pottery. The household included seventeen servants, among them a butler, two footmen and two grooms.

On 17 July 1888 at All Saints, Dillhorne, Marianne married Reginald John Manningham Buller.

She appears on the 1891 census, a widow living with her older sisters Diana Elizabeth Davenport and Sarah Ellen Davenport and their younger brother Henry at Camp Hill, Maer, Staffordshire. The household included eight servants.

Mrs Marianne Henrietta Manningham Buller died on 30 November 1902 at Camp Hill, Maer, Staffordshire. She left an estate valued at £23,127.
