Tje Honourable Lyulph Richard Granby William Lumley

Viscount Lumley


Born on 7 June 1850, the Honourable Lyulph Richard Granby William Lumley was the eldest son of Richard George Lumley, from 1856 the 9th Earl of Scarbrough, and Frederick Mary Adeliza née Drummond.

He was styled Viscount Lumley.

He died on 23 August 1868 at the age of 18.

‘We sincerely regret to make the intimation that Lyulph Richard Granby William, Viscount Lumley, eldest son of the Earl of Scarborough [sic], and heir presumptive to the honours of the family, died on Sunday, at Sandbeck Park. Viscount Lumley was born in 1850, and was consequently only 18 years of age. He was educated at Eton’ (Newcastle Journal, 26 August 1868).
