An inked dedication verso in a fine period hand reads: 'With Rosebud Kingley's best love to Edith Hoole / Feby. 11, 1864.'
Edith Hoole was the daughter of a successful tea merchant and grocer in Sheffield; she married solicitor Arthur Wightman in 1872. I can find no one with the name 'Rosebud Kingley.' The closest match is Rose A. Kingley, aged 20 in 1861, but she's the daughter of a stay maker and sister of a brass fitter in Leeds; it is extremely unlikely that this is her.
