Samuel Bright Lucas (1840-1919) and Robert George Box (1843-1938) were briefly in business together towards the end of the 1860s. Their partnership was dissolved at the beginning of 1870 (Daily Telegraph & Courier, 2 March 1870).
Robert George Box was later a staff photographer for William Downey. He died, aged 95, in Lewisham in 1938.
The Quaker Samuel Bright Lucas was a nephew of the Radical MP John Bright. Deaf himself, he was President of the National Deaf and Dumb Teetotal Society. He died in Cork on 6 November 1919, leaving an estate valued at £3377.
