Ellen Harriett Foot

Ellen Harriett Foot

Born on 28 July 1829 at Little Bredy in Dorset, Ellen Harriett Foot was the daughter of Reverend Lundy Foot, the Rector of Long Bredy, and his wife Harriet née Cunningham.

She appears on the 1851 census, living at the Rectory in Long Bredy with her father, who was now a widower, and her three sisters. The household included seven servants, including a lady’s maid, a groom and a laundress. She was still living at the Rectory when the census was taken in 1871. Presumably the rector’s unmarried daughters had to quit the family home when their father died in 1873.

Ellen Harriett Foot died, aged 49, on 27 February 1879 at 12 Catherine Place in Bath. She left an estate valued at £7000.
