Viscountess Gormanston

Born on 10 August 1804, Lucretia Jerningham was the eldest daughter of William Charles Jerningham and Anne née Wright. Her paternal grandfather was the 7th Lord Stafford.

On 19 July 1836 at St Mary’s Bryanston Square she married Edward Anthony John Preston, eldest son of the 12th Viscount Gormanston. Her husband inherited his father’s titles in 1860.

The marriage produced two sons and three daughters.

Lady Gormanston died, aged 86, on 5 February 1891 at 7 Seville Street, Lowndes Square, Knightsbridge.
