Odd perspective

The reverse of the mount carries a wetstamp advertising Reynolds's Royal Waxwork Exhibition on Lime Street in Liverpool. It is therefore at least possible that the baby in this photograph is a waxwork.

The sleeve of the woman's dress dates the photograph to the mid-1890s.
