Young man in bathing suit

A carte-de-visite portrait of a young man in a bathing costume, sitting on some fake rocks against a backdrop depicting a seascape. In his right hand he's holding a straw beach hat topped off with a small bunch of fabric flowers on its brim, while his left hand is holding a cigarette.

Presumably the sitter entered the photographer's studio in his street clothes and used the dressing room there to change into his bathing suit to have his portrait taken.
