Young girl

This photograph, and the accompanying portrait of the girl's sister, are unusual in that they appear to have been taken in the corner of a studio or house, without the use of any backdrop or painted flat.

Photographer unidentified, but probably by Oscar Gustavus Rejlander. The same curtain, bell and skirting board appear in the background of another (signed) portrait by him in my collection.
