Vice-Admiral Sir Charles Eden


A carte-de-visite portrait of Vice-Admiral Sir Charles Eden (1808-1878).

Born on 3 July 1808, he was the son of Sir Frederick Morton Eden, 2nd Bt.

He married, firstly, on 17 August 1828, Emma Williams, daughter of Sir Robert Williams, 9th Bt. He married, secondly, Fanny Cecilia Greville, daughter of Vice-Admiral Henry Francis Greville, on 30 April 1866.

Vice-Admiral Sir Charles Eden held the office of a Lord of the Admiralty between 1859 and 1866. He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (KCB).

Vice-Admiral Eden died on 7 March 1878, aged 69.
