Two men in women's clothes

Two men in women's clothes

To say these two are 'in drag' would be stretching it a bit, since there is clearly no attempt to pass as female. The intention seems to be entirely humorous.

Photographed by Franck of 18, rue Vivienne, Paris.

Franck (real name Fran├žois Marie Louis Alexandre Gobinet de Villecholle) began his photographic career as a daguerreotypist in Barcelona. He moved to Paris around 1858, and from around 1862 to around 1880 operated a studio in the rue Vivienne. He exhibited in all the great expositions of his time.
