Sister Regis and Mother Scholastica

A pencilled inscription on the album page identifies the sitters as: 'Miss Langton (Sister M.F. Regis) and Miss Ryan (Mother Scholastica) , Ursuline Convent, Blackrock, Cork.'

The album was compiled by Frank Langton (1840-1917), a Roman Catholic who for many years was Private Secretary to a succession of Postmasters General.
