Rugby players


Given that there are 15 of them, these are probably a team of rugby players.

Originally, rugby was played with a near spherical ball. It was only after the introduction of rubber inner-tubes in 1870 that the shape of the ball gradually began to change from a sphere to an egg.

Photographer and location unidentified, but almost certainly British.
