Reverend Francis Hopkinson

Reverend Francis Hopkinson (1811-1897)

From 1859 to 1869, Rev Francis Hopkinson was Perpetual Curate of St Peter's, Malvern Wells, Worcestershire. He appears on the 1861 census, living at 'The Dell' in Malvern Wells with his wife, Ellen, and their five servants. At the time of the census, he gave his age as 51, so he was born in or about 1810.

Rev Francis Hopkinson died in Worcestershire in 1898, at the age of 87. According to his will, proved at London on 28 March 1898, he bequeathed £200, the interest to be applied in the purchase of packets of tea, to be given on the anniversary of the donor's birth (23 February) to deserving poor inhabitants.

Photographed by Camille Silvy on 16 January 1861.
