Reverend John Heelis

Reverend John Heelis (1826-1893) was the son of Reverend Edward Heelis. He was christened at Dufton, Westmoreland, on 13 September 1826. He became the rector of Kirkby Thore and married Esther Martin. His son William (1871-1945) married the author Beatrix Potter in 1913.
