Prince and Princess of Teck

Prince and Princess of Teck

A carte-de-visite portrait of Princess Mary Adelaide and Prince Francis, the Duke and Duchess of Teck, seen here with two, possibly three, of their four children - and a goat cart.

Princess Mary Adelaide was a granddaughter of King George III and therefore a first cousin to Queen Victoria. Her eldest child, Princess Victoria May, is better known as Queen Mary, the Queen Consort of King George V.

Photographed by William and Daniel Downey of London and Newcastle.
