Mrs Mabel Thomas

Born in 1845, the Honourable Mabel Brand was the daughter of Henry Bouverie William Brand, 1st Viscount Hampden of Glynde. On 18 June 1863 she married Freeman Frederick Thomas, son of Freeman Thomas. The couple had four children.

Freeman Frederick Thomas was a first-class cricketer who played for Sussex between 1860 and 1867. He died on 1 December 1868, aged 30, at San Remo in Italy. His son, who was only two when his father died, became Freeman Freeman-Thomas, 1st Marquess of Willingdon and also played for Sussex.

Mrs Mabel Thomas died on 29 May 1924.
