Miss Swanborough in 'The Hunchback'

Probably a portrait of Miss Louisa Swanborough, rather than Miss Ada Swanborough. Miss Louisa Swanborough starred in many productions at the Haymarket. According to a copy of this carte-de-visite in one of Queen Victoria's albums in the Royal Photograph collection at Windsor, Miss Swanborough is seen here as Julia in The Hunchback. However, according to an advertisement in the classified columns of the Times (15 February 1860), the part of Julia was played by Miss Amy Sedgwick, while Miss Swanborough played the part of Helen.
