Miss Dunlop

An equestrian carte-de-visite portrait of a sitter identified as 'Miss Dunlop', probably Emily Mary Dunlop. Born in Gibraltar in 1847, she was the daughter of Colonel Franklin Dunlop (1812-1887) of the Royal Artillery and his wife Elizabeth Mary née Gordon. She never married and died in 1909 at Yewtree House, Holmwood, Surrey.

Photographed by William Notman in 1865 in front of his studio on Bleury Street in Montreal.
