Major Francis Winter

Born on 24 November 1805 at Agher in County Meath, Francis Winter was the son of John Prat Winter. He rose to the rank of Major in the service of the Bengal Army. On 18 April 1850 he married Anna Julia Caulfeild (died 1909), the eldest daughter of Colonel John Caulfeild (1792-1865) of Bloomfield, County Westmeath.

Major Francis Winter died, aged 86, on 17 May 1893 at 36 De Vere Gardens, London.
