London omnibus

One half of a stereoview showing a horse-drawn omnibus somewhere in London. The exact location is not identified by the signs on the bus indicate that it is travelling from Putney to Liverpool Street via Fulham Road, Piccadilly and the Strand.

The decorations in the background date the image to around the time of Edward VII's coronation. Originally scheduled for 26 June 1901, the ceremony had to be postponed when the king was stricken with appendicitis two days before the planned event. The coronation eventually took place on 9 August 1901.
