Henry's room

Henry's room

A pencilled inscription in the upper margin identifies the location as 'Henry's room, Grosvenor Gardens, 1870.' The Henry in question is probably Lord Henry Gordon-Lennox (1821-1886), who for nearly 40 years served as the Conservative MP for Chichester.

From an album compiled by a member of the Gordon-Lennox family, who were the Dukes of Gordon, Richmond and Lennox. The album includes portraits of many members of the family as well as views of Gordon Castle in Scotland and Goodwood House in Sussex.

Photographer unidentified.
