Général Fleury

Général Fleury

A carte-de-visite portrait of Général Fleury (1815-1884).

Introduced into Napoleon's circle as a young officer by Persigny, Émile Fleury became a general and the premier aide-de-camp of the Emperor. According to the notes of an earlier collector pencilled on the reverse of the mount, after the fall of the Second Empire Fleury was French ambassador to Russia.

Photographed by Disdéri of Paris.
