Giorgio Majeroni

The actor Giorgio Majeroni, seen here in an adaptation of Stanley J. Wyman's swashbuckling tale of a gentleman rogue Under the Red Robe. First dramatised for the stage in 1896, it was later (1937) made into a film starring Conrad Veidt.

The sitter has inscribed and signed the photograph on the mount in the lower margin: 'To Miss Ferrar, With every good wish, Giorgio Majeroni, 7.7.'99.' [Miss Ferrar was the actress Beatrice Ferrar.]
