George Clarkson Stanfield

A carte-de-visite portrait of the British painter George Clarkson Stanfield (1828-1878).

Stanfield exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1844 to 1876 and at the British Institution from 1844 to 1867. He married his cousin, Maria Blackburn, in 1854.

George Clarkson Stanfield died at the home of his sister in Hampstead on 22 March 1878.
