Général de Rarecourt, marquis de Pimodan

A grandson of Charles Honoré de Pimodan, an aide-de-camp of Louis XVIII, Georges de la Vallée de Rarecourt, marquis de Pimodan, was a general in the ponitifical army of Pope Pius IX. He died directing an attack against the Piedmontese troops at the Battle of Castelfidardo on 18 September 1860. He was buried in the church of Saint-Louis-des-Français at Rome.

His memoirs were published by his elder son in 1891.
