Daughter of Hon Mrs Charles Lindsay

Identified in the Silvy daybooks as the 'daughter of Hon. Mrs. Ch. Lindsay', this is probably Edith Lindsay, daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Hon. Charles Hugh Lindsay, a younger son of James Lindsay, 24th Earl of Crawford. Born in Ireland in or about 1853, she died in 1865.

She appears on the 1861 census with her parents and younger sister Violet (later Duchess of Rutland), staying at the home of her grandfather, the Earl of Crawford. At the time of the census she was 8 years old.
