A carte-de-visite portrait of the English clergyman the Reverend and Honourable Charles Leslie Courtenay, who was Canon of Windsor from 1859 to 1894.

Born on 31 March 1816, the Honourable Charles Leslie Courtenay was the fourth son of William Courtenay, 10th Earl of Devon. He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford, graduating BA in 1837 and MA in 1840. In 1849 he was appointed Vicar of Bovey Tracey in Devon; between 1843 and 1849 he was a chaplain-in-ordinary to Queen Victoria.

in 1849 he married Lady Caroline Margaret Somers-Cock, daughter of John Somers-Cock, 2nd Earl Somers.

In 1859 he was appointed to the first stall in St George's Chapel, Windsor, a position he held until his death in 1894.

He died at Bovey Tracey on 29 October 1894.
