Carlotta Zerbini

A carte-de-visite portrait of the contralto Carlotta Zerbini, who specialized in opera-bouffe. She performed with Lydia Thompson's troupe when they came to New York in the late 1860s and early 1870s. Zerbini played Sorosister Anne in Blue Beard in 1872 and Tressilian in Kenilworth in the same year, both at Wallack's Theatre.

Photographed by Campbell and Hecker of New York.

Signed by the sitter on the reverse of the mount.
