Cadets in the Royal Navy

A carte-de-visite portrait showing a group of young cadets standing on the deck of an unidentified ship. The man with a knife sharpener hanging from his apron belt, standing at the centre of the group, is almost certainly the ship's cook. The bearded man beside him is probably another Petty Office.

Photographed by Osborn of Erith, Charlton, Woolwich and Dartford.
