Arthur Roberts

A carte-de-visite portrait of Arthur Roberts (1852-1933) showing the comic actor as he appeared in a production of The Old Guard, a three-act opera comique by Robert Planquette (with libretto by H.B. Farnie) that was produced at the Avenue Theatre in 1887. The part of the mayor, Polydore Poupart, was written expressly for Roberts.
