Anti-Teapot League

The sitters are holding copies of 'The Anti-Teapot Review', a satirical journal published between 1864 and 1869. Touted as a 'Magazine of Politics, Literature and Art', the periodical aimed itself at the moralism implicit in the praise of tea by social critics such as Ritchie and Sigmond.
