A Venetian workman

A Venetian workman

A working class man with bare feet and dirty clothes. He’s carrying a spade of his shoulder, from which a wicker basket of kindling is suspended. Given the photographer, the man is probably from the region around Venice.

Photographed by Carlo Ponti of Venice.
