'Emma Procter'

A small albumen print mounted on a piece of stiff, thick paper that's been cut to the same dimensions as a standard carte de visite.

An inked inscription recto in the lower margin identifies the sitter as 'Emma Proctor.' This comes from a carte album filled entirely with courtesans and demi-mondaines.
