An albumen print from an album of navy-related photographs compiled by a young seaman called Alexander William Ainslee, who went down on the training ship Atalanta when she disappeared during a storm in the Caribbean in 1880. This photograph is inscribed 'Crew of Cygnet's Cutter' in the lower margin.
