Mlle Louise Fiocre

Mlle Louise Fiocre

Mlle. Louise Fiocre was a dancer with the Paris Opéra. Her sister Eugénie Fiocre was also a dancer with the same company.

In 1860 Louise danced the part of ‘L’Amour’ in the ballet Les Amours de Diane, performed in the second act of Prince Poniatowski’s opera Pierre de Médicis. The gentlemen of the Jockey Club enjoyed seeing her shapely legs in Cupid costume and encouraged the management to cast her in such roles. She was seventeen years old and already a veteran of four seasons at the Paris Opéra.
