According to the website of the National Portrait Gallery, the English actress Nelly Moore (sometimes Nellie Moore) was born in either 1844 or 1845 and she died in 1869.

In October 1859 she was appearing as Winifred in Cupid’s Ladder and the following month she was appearing as Eiderdonna in Charles Lamb Kenny’s burlesque, The Swan and Edgar at the St James’s Theatre, with Clara St Casse and Lydia Thompson in the lead roles.

On 25 January 1869, the following brief announcement appeared in the Times: ‘Death of an actress – Miss Nelly Moore, well-known in connexion with the Queen’s Theatre, expired, we regret to announce, on Friday, of typhoid fever, after a long illness.’ She was twenty-four years old.
