'Mrs Gore and my godson'

A carte-de-visite portrait of a mother and baby identified on the album page as 'Mrs Gore and my godson.'

From an album compiled by Laura Margaret Mulgrave Standish (1842-1909), daughter of William Standish Standish of Duxbury in Lancashire. In 1869 she married Edmund Berkeley Lucy.

Given the location, the woman in the photograph is possibly Catherine Grace Frances Gore (née Moody), wife of Augustus Wentworth Gore. The child would be either her first son, Charles Cecil Howard Gore, born in 1862, or her second son, Frederick Wentworth Gore, born in 1865.
