'Karana or Caroline'

An extensive inked inscription verso in a period hand reads: 'Karana or Caroline, sister to Victoria the Queen of Nuku Maru, she fought with her sister the Queen under Generals Cameron and Chute in all their engagements on the West coast of this Island'.
